Penelitian Dr. Frank Sacks, Dosen Havard School of Public Health, Amerika Serikat menyarankan : makanlah sedikit. Tak jadi masalah darimana asal kalori , apa pun makanan Anda, yang penting batasi asupan kalori. Riset ini dipublikasikan di New England Journal of Medicine akhir Februari lalu.
Sacks dan timnya menganalisis 811 pasien obesitas di Massachusett dan Louisiana. Mereka secara acak dibagi dalam empat jenis diet sehat:1. lemak rendah
2. lemak tinggi
3. protein rata-rata
4. protein tinggi
2. lemak tinggi
3. protein rata-rata
4. protein tinggi
Berat badan para peserta penelitian ini turun rata-rata 5,9 kg dalam enam bulan. Apapun jenis diet yang mereka jalani tidak satu pun dari keempat dari jenis diet itu lebih unggul. Yang sukses adalah mereka yang sedikit makan.
